So there are a number of things in my life that just make it better. Items I can’t live without now they are part of my everyday. To kick off a bit of a – Things I love Thursday – I thought I would share with you just a few of the current loves in my life.
- Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner
With a two-year old and two fairly lazy adults in the house, this love is like gold! A handheld vac allows you to be a bit looser on the rules and let your kids eat dinner on the lounge if you know that is where they will actually EAT it rather than waste it. When a friend texts that they are about to drop by, the mad dash around the house is made a breeze. My little sucker has decrumbed many a kitchen bench. We also have a general wheel around Dyson but the handheld is used numerous times daily. Definitely worth the cash! Well we got this one with some sort of point scheme thing but my life will never be without a Dyson handheld again. Ours is a pretty old model but you can see all about the latest release here.
- Recording at the press of a button!
I remember the days of TV cabinet draws filled with VHS cassettes that Mum had taped for me and my sister. Movies like Dot and the Kangaroo, Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid. Now being able to record anything at anytime at the push of a button, no cassette required, is one of my favourite things. A luxury I understand but this post isn’t about saving the world. Don’t even get me started on series record!
I always ensure I have a few of my little boys favourite shows banked up so I can quiet a tantrum at the drop of a hat and if I don’t have a new request ready to go on demand, no worries, just jump onto the EPG (whatever that stands for) and set some recordings up. Easy as pie. Sometimes quiet is great and if all it takes is a couple of episodes of Jake and the Neverland Pirates so be it.
- Gaia Belly Butter
I am currently 18 weeks into my second pregnancy and have only just cracked out the Gaia Belly Butter. Better late than never! The smell is divine and really is the main reason I slather it on, when I remember to. I used Gaia throughout my first pregnancy and came out the other end stretch mark free but I do put this down to more genetics but the Gaia can take some credit too. What I do know is that I love smelling lush! You can pick up Gaia products at most pharmacies though I find the butter a little harder to find then other items in the range.
- Koosh Case
When Ari started showing an interest in our technology we thought it was time to pad it up. We at first got the Fisher Price tablet protector and it was a massive fail. Friends of ours had a Koosh and told us it was the must have saviour of the iPad, and it is! Our tablet has been flung off lounges, carried around the country side and now is carted around every corner of the house while my son talks to his Daddy on FaceTime. It has never had a crack or chip because of our mate Koosh. People always comment on it and we just say it is a must have. The case does not hinder any of the functionality (which was a big problem with the Fisher Price model), with holes for all ports and buttons. It is balky but for around $40 your iPad is safe and secure from hard-core toddlers and the occasional adult. It also comes with a stand which I find handy when following a recipe online while cooking. I can’t remember where we got ours from now but I did find them here.
- Lucas Grogan plate
I picked up this Lucas Grogan plate in a little shop on Hastings Street in Noosa called Lamington. Very cool shop. I saw it hidden away in a less conspicuous spot in the store and had to grab it. Who wouldn’t want a pretty plate that bursts with excitement like this one! It stands pride of place in my kitchen while the children can’t read. You can pick up your own here.
