If you are like my husband and I, Valentines Day doesn’t really get a look in. There have been years that we have decided to do nothing at all and then I get all, ‘what if I died tomorrow and I was too much of a lazy ass to do anything for Valentines Day! How will he know I love him!?’
HOW WILL HE KNOW?? (on knees, arms in the air, rain drizzling down my face, STELLAAAAA!)
So now normally my husband and I might give each other a card and something small. Or just a card normally and eat a meal together with vocal recognition that it is for Valentine’s Day even if it is just a ham sandwich at a local cafe.
As much as it is about recognising the day, I just can’t freaking ignore the funny, creative cards out there! I must buy them. Buy them all!
Etsy, once again, is the place to come up with the good stuff. There is so much gold to be found. I have gone through and picked out a few of my favourites but there are so many more. Please note that these are all international sellers hence getting in early on this post so they can arrive in your hot little hands on time. I didn’t intentionally pick all international, just picked intentionally funny.
Look, you may not give presents or ham sandwiches but taking the time to pick out a perfect Valentine’s Day card to make your other half laugh is nice enough to show you care.
Clockwise from top left:
- There is Nobody else I’d Rather Lie in Bed by Emily McDowell Draws on Etsy.
- You Make Me One Happy MOFO by Julie Ann Art on Etsy.
- Back Ally Hooker by Sweet Perversion on Etsy. (This card got a run in our house 2 years ago. Still one of my favourites.)
- Thanks for Loving Me by Sioux Alice on Etsy.
- I Can’t Believe How Much I’m Not Sick of You by Orange Cricket on Etsy.
- I’m So Glad by Julie Ann Art on Etsy. (This will be the card for 2015 I think. Simple and true!)
Do you celebrate Valentines Day? Do you like ham sandwiches?

Hahahah!! Where do you find these awesome cards!? We don’t do Valentines day either but you have inspired me to go and stalk my local newsagent!! Even though I know the husbandito won’t do the same…..but I love him anyway!! xx
Etsy – all the way. Get in now for international cards but there are some cool Aussie ones too. 🙂
Ha, these are brilliant. I especially love card #1 – so true for Hubs and I 🙂
I do love Etsy – you can find the most wonderful and unique stuff over there. Thanks for scouring the pages so we don’t have to!
Etsy is the best. Just have to be organised enough to pick up some cool international finds. My wedding was Etsy everything!
These made me laugh! Now to decide which one to buy…
The Back Ally Hooker is my favourite but has now been done in this house. 🙂
Ham sandwiches are my favourite…but even better with tomato and cheese. “Love you like a back-alley hooker loves crack” GOLD!
I am hanging out for a ham and cheese toastie right now actually! Yum!
LOL! I always get the husband a few cards – there are always so many that are so great! So he usually gets at least two from me. And there’s usually one from the dogs because I found one that is just perfect, but really? 3 cards from me for one holiday? That’s a bit much. And occasionally there’s one from the cat too. Because you know she doesn’t want to be left out. Or maybe she acts like she does but secretly, she’s all about it. I think. 😉
Bahahaha! Hilarious. I am sure the cat loves it, the saucy minx!
Love these Karin. The lie in bed and look at my phone one os perfect for my husband. He hates when I do that x
It is a little true for our house too. I would like to highlight that I am usually the first one to put their phone down though. 🙂 x
Love these Karin! I think these scream romance more than the soppy cards!! True love when they don’t mind delays on shaved legs 😉
That is true love Jo! 🙂
Oh I so love Etsy! How receiving one of these would make me smile. I won’t be banking on it however. We don’t really do cards (sometimes i make a hand made, daggy/sappy one) or celebrate V day much. If we’re lucky we’ll spend our money on eating out together and just enjoying each others company but this year I think Mr Vick is working! Wahhh! Oh well… he’s pretty wonderful most days of the year actually.
Oh look at you getting all mushy. I think just celebrating V Day over a good meal is the best way to do it but I can’t go past these funny cards.
Yikes! This is freaky Karin – great minds think alike as I posted on this exact same topic. Luckily we chose different cards but the majority of mine were from Etsy too. There is some absolute gold to be found there and like Pinterest, is a fabulous drain on my time. I love that first card you featured about the phone. Any card that gives me a good giggle is a winner! Happy Valentine’s Day 🙂
Ha! Will have to jump over and check out your picks. I could have chosen so many. Etsy is very dangerous to my credit card! 🙂
They are the best Valentine’s Day cards I’ve ever seen. That phone one, HAHA!
It is a scary true card that one! lol
haha I love these. I need one for my hubby that says ‘thank you for loving me even though I am an obnoxious twat for one week every month’… or something like that 😉 xx
Bahahaha! Yes I think that would be a best seller. 🙂 x
