My phone is fully loaded with battery, there are costumes out for the kids and I have actually washed my hair.
Why?
It’s the Mr’s birthday and he isn’t here so we plan to flood his mobile with so many videos that he will feel like he is at home.
Kind of.
We shall try.
Between planning funny birthday videos and child wrangling I found these good things on the interwebs.
- Ari is very ready for school next year but now it is just up to me to devise a plan to get us all out the door on time more regularly. These Routine Cards from Be A Fun Mum look like a fab idea!
- When we lived in Mackay we had a friend who would always know when something was going to happen in the sky. We would get text messages saying go outside in 15 minutes and look south-west and sure enough to the minute we would get excided about a 60-second flash. This was prior to kids. Now with kids, I want to get them just as excited as we were at… 30 years old… Anywho, I thought this was rad!
- I have been cleaning my house out this week instead of doing a whole lot of more pressing jobs. I am going to take on some of Styling You’s tips on how to organise my wardrobe.
- Another week closer to Halloween and another piece of awesome from Oh Happy Day with printable spooky candy poppers.
- I have a love-hate relationship with working from home. I know this will all change again once school starts next year. Keeping focus and staying motivated are my biggest issues so it is nice getting tips from people who are kicking ass from home.
Your turn!

Drowning in video sounds like a great way to spend a birthday.
Thanks for hosting!
He loved it but is now really excited to get back home this week. 🙂
What a great way to celebrate his birthday while away, I love it! We’ve been using those routine cards for around 6 months now and I think they really do help. Have a great day x
Good to know! I currently have a magnet kind of thing happening but also not happening. :/ x
Happy Birthday to your Mr. And it sounds like you are able to make the best of things too as you move towards this end of year which has so much happening in your lives. I thought Kelly’s cards looked great too. She is such a creative and practical mum/teacher isn’t she? Love her!
She sure is Denyse. 🙂
Happy birthday to your Mr, we’ve been making videos on the iPhone using the iMovie and making a trailer, in the holidays, a winner at our place. I love those Halloween crackers, they’d make a fab end of year gift for boys to give as classroom gifts too. Happy videoing lovely, have a great weekend X
How good are the templates on iMovie?! We made the superhero one when we were all together with my stepdaughter last year. Such great memories. x
Hey movie mogul, hope the mister has a great birthday and you guys have fun making memories. You’ll have to give me some video tips when I see you, I have absolutely no idea how to even start! I totally need those wardrobe tips, mine is like a clothing apocalypse! Have fun! xx
I want new clothes to go in my wardrobe makeover though. 😉
Good for you on all the spring cleaning. I’ve done the kids rooms but am in serious procrastination mode when it comes to the rest of the house! Good luck with the routine cards. We have something similar (chore chips) and it’s made mornings a little bit easier when the tornadoes know what they need to do. Hope your Mr loves all of the videos xx! xx
I think the spring cleaning comes with procrastination. I am just a little behind with work… but my draws are clean! 🙂
Good on you , you must be really organised to wrangle those kids and work from home. You go gurl…
Sometimes organised. 🙂
So fun to flood your hubby’s phone with video – whilst my hubby was working interstate, I would try and send photos from our day at the end of the day. I wasn’t always so good to getting around to a) taking the photos or b) sending the photos and often got messages saying ‘photos today?’… Mamas be busy!
There was a gap in my sending in the middle of the afternoon too. This mama dropped the ball! LOL
