I am currently in my third week of solo parenting and it is taking its toll on us all. Bring on Wednesday when the Mr is back in da house!
My son bit me tonight. Like instant bruise bit me. I was shocked. I think he was shocked. We have all had enough of this away round.
Just keep swimming…
in wine.
Have a great weekend. Enjoy my links and also all my favourite linkers in The Ultimate Rabbit Hole below.
My constant snacker does my head in. It is a continual struggle. I actually have him eating a few “new” things at the moment but then he dropped some others. Poo up hill! I read all the advice including this from Yummy Mummy Club.
I am currently feeling all the fatigues that Hugzilla is on about this week.
I can’t wait to take our little family on a driving holiday in outback Australia. These pictures on The Beetle Shack have me wanting it even more.
I found this post from Kelly Exeter down last week’s Ultimate Rabbit Hole and it completely resonated with me and my goal setting. I have gone back to it a few times now.

I take my hat off to you Karin doing such long stretches of solo parenting. My husband has recently started working away for most of the week and it’s certainly a struggle at times trying to keep my crazy boys in line and trying to keep my own sanity in the process. I hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks for hosting.
This third week was spontaneous and not our norm. I now realise 2 weeks is out limit. Have a great weekend. 🙂
Solo parenting is so hard, you’re amazing Karin. Only a few more days!! X
Nearly there. I am currently sitting in silence with them both asleep. It’s beautiful. 🙂
It must be hard to parent solo so frequently but sounds like you’ve got a handle on it! Love your links this week, especially Hugzilla and Kelly’s posts!
Two weeks is usually our normal swing. That I can handle. Thanks Amy.
I love the goal setting tips from Kelly. Wishing you a fab weekend. V x
You too Vicki x
Three weeks?! I thought you guys were on a sorter swing than that? Hang in there, all the mamas start losing their mind in week 3….
And I hear you on the fussy eating thing. I’ve been dealing with it for 15 looooooong flipping years with my eldest & number three isn’t much better. Does my head in!!
x
Yeah, normally we are on a 2 week swing but at the end of the second week his company needed him to do one more so he ends up on a different roster. Seemed fine when they asked, haha. I did 6 weeks when Ari was a bub. Two kids is a whole new ball game!! xx
I’m counting down those days for you Karin! x
Thanks Ellen x
I hear you lovely, hang in there. We’ve had a weekend visit in the last month but are going to see him this weekend and then another long stretch. I only have to do it for 3 months though so I take my hat off to you. Wine!!!
Yes, yours is continual at the moment V. Hope these last 3 months go fast for you. x
Nearly there Karin! Wine is always your friend when solo parenting, in fact any style of parenting who am I kidding. My kids are driving me bonkers this morning! Some days are to be filed under #wtf. Light is at the end of the tunnel and the Daddy home joy will begin yaaaaaaay! xx
Wine for all! 🙂
Hang in there Karin!
Thanks Steph
I’m flying solo for 2 days this wk end… 2 weeks is just beyond.. and 3 weeks! my gosh… You really should have a cape superwoman. You’re amazing!
I have a snacker too… does my head in so I read every word of that post… I need to regain control me thinks! Love Loved Hugzilla’s fatigue post! Hilarious and so spot on! Hang in there sweet… and wine! xx
3 weeks is no good for us. It is unhealthy. From now on we stick with just 2. x
Oh no you poor thing 🙁 hopefully that was the last of the biting. The FIFO life is definitely not for everyone. At least it’s nearly time for hubby to come home for a bit.
Two weeks are no worries. Three have been horrible. We shall get there. Thanks for linking up.
Oh I hear you loud and clear, I did 2 and a half weeks there was much swimming in wine done.
Here’s to a fast week x
Thanks Sarah x
Hang in there super mom! High five to you for your three week stint. Rest assured, the hubster and wine is a-coming! Loved Kelly’s post, she’s a wise one, that’s for sure x
I am having a celebratory wine tonight. I made it! Tomorrow the Mr is home. 🙂
1 more sleep till Wednesday. Hats off to you, lady. xx
Thanks Shannon and now we are here so I am about to sign off. 😉 xx
