I know I am a couple of days late to catch the end of the month but January is always like that isn’t it? By the time you get back into the swing of things and sober up after all the fun and festivities of December you have lost a few days, weeks or basically the whole month.
January, for me, felt like it disappeared in a flash.
Entering February is very exciting for us though; a new chapter begins as a family of four, and it also holds the carnival of Karin which ends on the 28th with my birthday. I am not sure how festive I will be this year but I am sure I will be happy and content and my
day, sorry, week long celebration, will be filled with smoked salmon, pasta and brie. Maybe some fresh oysters. Yum!
Back to January though.
I am taking stock of the last month. Joining Pip Lincoln from Meet Me At Mike’s fabulous idea on looking back on the past month and taking a moment to think of all that has been going on.
Making: This fabulous gift idea for Valentine’s Day.
Cooking: Cauliflower Rice, it really is better than you think it is going to me!
Drinking: Sprite Zero, it is so much better than Kirk’s Sugar Free! I know, I was being cheap.
Reading: Renegade Collective magazine, Real Living magazine, Mother and Baby magazine, lots of magazines.
Wanting: The Mr’s shift to be over. 2 more sleeps!
Looking: At lots of pink, it seems to be multiplying.
Playing: The Serial podcast on my iPod. I have only just started tuning in and it hooks you. So interesting and well done.
Enjoying: Slowing down. I have an air of ‘what will be, will be’ at the moment that is growing stronger by the day.
Waiting: For this baby girl to make an appearance. 38 and a half weeks.
Liking: Having fancy English Breakfast teabags and a new special tea-cup. A gift from some special girlfriends.
Wondering: How the birth will all play out.
Considering: Which canvases to hang above my bed. Have swayed back to some surfing pics instead of a big pink cockatoo print.
Watching: Season One of Orange is the New Black…very slowly! But now ready for season two.
Marvelling: At how much Ari has clicked onto the impending arrival of his little sister.
Needing: To get just a little more writing done before this baby arrives.
Smelling: Fresh rain on a hot road.
Wearing: PJ’s all day if I can get away with it.
Following: bloggers I have newly found here and here.
Knowing: Life is about to change again and I have to take it one step at a time.
Admiring: Lots of fine wares from here. Is there any other shops on the internet because Bohemian Traders are everywhere at the moment!
Sorting: Through teeny tiny pink washing.
Buying: Headbands from here and sweet little moccs from here.
Getting: Excited about the year ahead.
Bookmarking: Lots of great things for The Ultimate Rabbit Hole each week.
Disliking: The State election antics. If only we were voting on the candidates waving skills because in my electorate that is all we really have to go on.
Opening: State election paraphernalia. So many trees!
Giggling: At Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s opening monologue at the Golden Globes.
Feeling: Happy, excited and maybe a little inpatient.
Snacking: On punnets of Peroni tomatoes. Yum!
Wishing: A number of my friends lived closer so I can catch up with them more often and our little families can grow up together.
Hearing: My new neighbours whiney dog getting used to its surrounds. Hopefully he gets the hang of everything soon.
Have a fabulous week and if you are keen to take stock of your last month, visit Pip here.
