Sunday morning my husband was looking at me from across the table with a glint of crazy in his eye. The type of crazy you get when you have been hanging around, inside four walls with a 2-year-old for just a little too long.
I, on the other hand, was happily finishing off my first online grocery shop in a long time, the washing machine was whirling away like some type of antique rocket ship in the background and I was thinking about ticking off my next job, vacuuming the floors. I was high on domestic bliss I tells you!
But I saw his pain and it was time to release him from his cage.
We have been talking about heading up to Mount Mee for a while so grabbed the moment, jumped in the car with an impromptu snack box and hit the highway.
Mount Mee is within an easy hour drive north of Brisbane with clean country air, good roads and plenty of places to check out along the way. After doing a few easy walks that I was able haul my big bump around and having a look at The Gantry, we stopped at Dayboro for lunch before heading home to finally hang that washing out.
I think we will be back when it comes closer to baby birthing time as some bumpy gravel roads we found (to a couple of different walking tracks we chose) might come in handy in the not to distant future.
We had the best day and have pledged to go exploring more often. Gotta love road trippin’!
What did you get up to on the weekend?
Go road trippin’ yourself?
