Now I have never had ambitions to be a food blogger. I love food blogs and I trawl through many each week looking for tastebud candy but never have I wanted to be a food blogger.
That isn’t to say I am not ambitious in the kitchen. Sometimes a little too ambitious.
My plan was to show off a recipe from the lovely Lauren at Create Bake Make and Lucy from Bake Play Smile‘s latest ebook, Christmas Homemade Gifts. I have made a few things out of it already with great success but did I take any photos while cooking to show off about my rad skills, NO!
With a class break up today, my plan was to create some fancy Oreo Truffles to take along. I would take photos through out the process so I could share them with you and then mentally high-five myself for taking along home-made truffles to share with the teacher, parents and kids.
Refer to second paragraph.
That was the plan…
No light boxes for this loose cannon!
Fancy Thermomix pic. Doing well, Oreos in the bowl.
See another pic because it looked cool. Maybe I should run a hashtag… #thingsinbowls. I could do that!
So forgot to take a pic of after the Oreos were crushed and the cream cheese thrown in so we move onto rolled balls and the beginning of the end…
Rolling said balls in melted chocolate…
It’s not pretty.
I am thinking now I may have missed a bit where I was supposed to put the balls in the fridge for a bit to harden to make the chocolate dip easier.
I put the rest in the fridge for a while which certainly helped but a serious case of CBF (can’t be… you get it) set in.
See my attention span isn’t great. My patience is slim to none. Crafting and cooking suffer greatly from these attributes. Time to retreat!
I took a chosen few truffles to class today but didn’t even get them out I was too embarrassed.
Truffles might not be my thing, me thinks!
I think I will stick to slices and crackles.
And dress rehearsals before I attempt to perform!

I bet they taste divine though! I never manage the process pics in a recipe because my hands are usually too sticky and or messy to hold the camera and there’s not a clean spot left in the kitchen, once I get cooking, it’s like Armageddon. You may not have the photo finish you desiered but don’t get ruffled about your truffles, enjoy eating them instead!
I am not defeated yet. I will be back with something practised and applauded. 🙂
Haha you have about as much patience as me. They do still look yummy though!
I had the same experience with Beth from Baby-Mac’s Anne cake. It still tasted bloody good and I bet your truffles did too. Jx
I have been meaning to try the Anne. Need an excuse. I love Beth’s asian chicken mince with rice. x
