This was me this morning.
Luckily the kids played nice last night and I did get a better chunk of sleep than the norm so I didn’t turn into a blubbering mess clutching his leg as he got into his taxi.
With zombie days filled with caffeine and a fuzzy brain we packed everyone up and spent our time away from the house. Patience is stronger and children occupied for longer out of the house.
We hit up Dinosaur Discovery at the Queensland Museum.
We were all super excited to get in to see the dinosaurs (what has my life become…) but as soon as we got through the door Ari leapt into the Mr’s arms. Near-real dinosaurs can become a wee bit scary face to face but after assurances that they were not going to bite him and a little bit of time he wasn’t scared to wander around on his own two legs, no matter how small they had suddenly become.
It was a fantastic exhibit and if you live in Brisbane or just visiting it is completely worth your time. It runs until the 5th of October 2015.
Yesterday we scanned the Brisbane Kids site to find a new park to discover. Not just any old park either, we wanted one of the new fancy parks that are springing up around the place.
We found one in seaside Shorncliffe that was lots of time occupying fun.
Off they go. The boys stick together while the girls hang out.
Side note: Did you know a Fitbit won’t register accurate steps when pushing a stroller or pram. I got completely ripped off! I will now be pushing one-handed and swinging my Fitbit arm.
Getting out of the house is good for everyone and presented us with valuable family time before the Mr took off again.
As for tonight’s sleep outlook, I am currently typing away at my son door to get him to stay in his bed. It looks bleak people. Hopefully the fight will end soon so I can get some shut-eye before feed time.
Where do you head when you need a no-thinking time out? Do you find sunshine helps restore your soul?
