At the weekend Leni, my sister and I headed out for a ladies day at the Finders Keepers Markets in Brisbane.
We had a great time even with the place heaving with the masses. I don’t think I have ever seen so many felt-wide-brimmed-hats in one place. Hipsters unite!
My highlight was the haloumi and fried egg burger with sweet potato crisps for lunch. So good that I will probably dream of it tonight.
Besides the food there were amazing products and stalls aplenty. I am unsure I wouldn’t be able to find something to buy at every single one. I was restrained though. I blew my budget but in a restrained fashion. Ha!
Here are just a few of the designers I discovered. I have linked each to their Instagram account so you can check them out further but don’t blame me if you give your credit card a work out.
Bonnie Hislop takes out my best on ground. I dream for one droplet of her artistic capabilities. One of the donut plates come home with me but I would have loved a planter too. Each piece is hand painted and unique.
With a massive range of well priced geometric prints it was hard to choose a favourite.
Always a fan of this type of art, I couldn’t go past Creep Heart and picked up a pair of earrings, brooch and hand-made plate.
My budget didn’t quite stretch far enough to pick up one of Kim Wallace’s beautiful pieces but I was a big fan of her doily inspired plates and platters.
I found A Boy Named Aaron late in the day and my money was spent. Will be watching on Instagram though because I have a gap on my wall of crosses that I now think has Aaron’s name on it.
Buttery soft and basic in style, I wanted to make one of Honey & Heid’s clutches mine. Unfortunately her stands location was at one of the busiest point in the whole markets and I just had to get out of there…after touching and sniffing everything.
Have you been to a Finders Keepers Markets?
