Soooo, I guess you could say the school holidays are done and so are my excuses…
My son started Prep last week and I am only now just sitting down at my desk even though I said I was going to be blogging over the break… what can I say, holidays took over.
That isn’t a bad thing.
Oh, and there was the complete lack of brain capacity and many hours of couch time due to this…
Surprise to everyone, including me.
It has been a little bit of a brain blow-out trying to grasp the idea that we fell pregnant without trying to. Me 6 years ago, or even me 3 years ago would have wanted to slap my face silly with that last sentence but that is what makes it so true. When we were trying to make babies we struggled. We had all the pieces working, doing all the right things but just not in sync and it took over 12 months to make both of our babies.
This baby took one night commiserating with quite a few drinks over the death of my beautiful Gypsy dog which lead to the obvious and WHAMO! Two blue lines.
I am sure I will have more to write about wrapping my head around our pretty fabulous surprise but that is for another post.
So here I am emerging from my lounge-room, squinting in the light of day. I feel like I am finally out of the blurgh of the first trimester and I am ready for the “honeymoon period” of the second.
The Doc is on to me though. I have been summoned for my Glucose Tolerance Test early due to having Gestational Diabetes during my last pregnancy. That’s just plain nasty! I thought I had at least another 4 weeks up my sleeve but no, I get to enjoy those two hours in QML this week. Boo!
A bit of a rambling post to see me back in here but I guess that is fitting after my holiday that just kept rambling on.
What have I missed? What was the best part of your holidays?
